Being at home matters most at the end.

Many people would rather spend their final months, weeks or days in their own home.

Surrounded by the things and people they love. Making that possible takes careful, kind support, and families shouldn't have to do it alone.

Our carers provide personal care, comfort and companionship, and help keep the home calm and running. We work alongside your loved one's healthcare team, follow the care plan closely and adapt as needs change.

Above all, we listen: to your loved one's wishes, and to what the family needs to feel supported.

Comfort, dignity and company, at home.

Following their wishes

Care shaped around their preferences, routines and advance care plan.

Not sure what you need? That’s completely fine. Let’s start with a conversation.

We're a local family, caring for yours.

Our family's caring story began in the 1990s. Nightingales Care was established in Bognor Regis in 2009, carrying forward the same belief that people deserve kindness, dignity and to feel truly known.

We're independent, not a national franchise. That means a local team you can speak to, and care shaped around the person rather than a standard package.

Personal, not one-size-fits-all

We start with the person: what they enjoy, what matters to them and how they want to live.

Familiar faces you can trust

We know that trust takes time, so continuity and relationships are an important part of how we care.

Here for families as well

We're available to talk through concerns, explain the options and review care as circumstances change.

Care that adapts as needs change.

Needs can change quickly. Visits can increase, and live-in care can provide round-the-clock support, so your loved one can stay at home with familiar faces around them.

There's no commitment to more than you want. We'll talk through what would help now, put together a personalised plan, and review it with you as your situation changes.

A LITTLE CLARITY

Your questions, answered.

There’s no such thing as a small question when it comes to choosing care.

  • What is palliative care at home?

Palliative care focuses on comfort and quality of life for someone with a life-limiting illness. At home, it means help with personal care, comfort and daily life, alongside the medical care provided by their GP and nursing team.

  • What's the difference between palliative and end-of-life care?

Palliative care can last months or longer. End-of-life care usually refers to the last weeks or days of life. We can support your loved one through both.

  • Can you provide care overnight or around the clock?

Live-in care gives round-the-clock support at home. Sleeping and waking nights can also be arranged, subject to availability, so please call us to talk through what's possible.

  • Do your carers give medication?

Our carers can prompt and assist with medication as set out in the care plan. Clinical tasks such as syringe drivers are managed by community nurses.

  • How quickly can care be arranged?

Care can start straight away once we've completed a care assessment. Call us and we'll arrange the assessment as quickly as we can, as we know time matters.

  • Is end-of-life care funded?

Sometimes. NHS Continuing Healthcare can fund care for people whose needs are mainly health-related, including fast-track funding at the end of life. Your GP or nurse can advise; we're happy to talk it through.

  • Which areas do you cover?

Bognor Regis, Chichester and nearby villages including Aldwick, Felpham, Pagham, Middleton-on-Sea, Bersted and Rose Green.
